  Standard Terms And Conditions


Definitions
Wherever the terms 'carrier', 'transporter', 'our', 'us' or 'we' is state in this document it refers to Car Collection Service. Wherever the term 'shipper' is used it is deemed to include the sender, owner, owners agent, receiver or consignee.

Period of Responsibility
The transporter shall not be liable for loss of or damage to any vehicle prior to loading and after discharge from the transporting vehicle, howsoever such loss or damage arises, except during handling on property held by us.

Failure to Load
The confirmation of booking or our acceptance to transport a vehicle does not imply that the vehicle will actually be loaded. Actual loading and/or delivery will depend on any circumstance, which may prevent the transporter from reaching the collection point or destination and actually loading/unloading the vehicle. We reserve the right to cancel or delay any shipment without penalty and/or liability. If we, the carrier, are instructed to collect a vehicle on or after any particular day/time, yet are unable to collect the vehicle due to the vehicle being unready at the collection point or funds being uncleared, or any other reason out of our control, then the contract shall be deemed terminated and the carrier shall claim full payment for the transportation order. Drivers will wait for a maximum of 30 minutes, if the transporter driver is required to wait thereafter for a vehicle to be prepared or for monies to clear at collection/delivery address, then a waiting charge shall be levied. The charge shall be at the prevailing rate, currently £75.00 per hour exclusive of vat. Drivers reserve the right to refuse the loading of a vehicle if it is considered by him/her unsafe to do so, for whatever reason.

Settlement of account
Invoices will be raised within 14 days of delivery and shall be payable within 14 days of invoice date. If an account is found overdue, we reserve the right to hold any vehicles in our care belonging to the Shipper until the account is cleared to within the stated terms. We also reserve the right to charge interest on any overdue account under the European Directive 2000/35/EC.

Storage
Storage at one of our compounds will be free for the first four working days and will be charged at the prevailing daily rate thereafter, per day, per vehicle.

Fuel Surcharges / fluctuations
We reserve the right to pass on any fuel charge levies, imposed on us, by outside agencies. Whilst we aim to keep our prices competitive, any long-standing price structures are subject to minor alterations if the price of fuel changes. This will be invoiced out as a "Fuel Surcharge". Invoicing the surcharge, as a separate item will keep our core price at our normal competitive rate, and allows us to withdraw the surcharge as and when it is not deemed necessary.

Damage
Any damage not notified on the P.O.D. (Proof of Delivery Note), will not be accepted by us, unless and not withstanding, we are notified in writing within 48 hours if delivery, and the damage can be viewed by us, prior to any repairs. Any damage notified to us via the P.O.D., estimates must be submitted within 7 days and we reserve the right to claim any replaced part, as proof of damage. Car Collection Service will not be held responsible for any damage that cannot be attributable to negligence on behalf of Car Collection Service or their Staff. I.e. Acts of God (Storm damage, Bird Strike, Bird Droppings, etc.), Stone chips, acts of vandalism not preventable by Car Collection Service. Vehicles damaged whilst in our care, which we accept liability for, will be repaired and delivery completed. Car Collection Service will not provide hire cars, replacement vehicles or compensation whilst the vehicle is being repaired.

Insurance
During our period of responsibility, all vehicles are covered by our "Goods In Transit" insurance; a copy is available on request. Any additional insurance required for loads in excess of our "Goods in Transit" insurance, will be negotiated and may invoiced separately. Delivery Schedules Whilst every effort is made to keep to promised delivery schedules, Car Collection Service will not be held responsible for late or failed collections or deliveries due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control i.e. Road works, Traffic Accidents, Breakdowns, Industrial, adverse weather conditions etc.
